Snow Reporter’s Update:
Good morning, Beast Fans!
It's another good day to be skiing and riding. We received 6 inches of snow overnight and we are expecting up to 4 more inches of the good stuff to fall by Thursday. Conditions are even better than you would expect out on the hill as new snow keeps coming down and your favorite powder stashes fill in. Whether it's powder or freshly groomed corduroy that you are after, there is something at The Beast for everyone with around 140 trails to choose from.
I'm thinking it's a good morning to start with a warm up lap on Cruise Control followed by a drop in on Lower Vertigo for some fresh powder and softs bumps. I might even pop over to The Stairs to get into some good tree skiing to complete the perfect power hour over on Needle's Eye.
The Snowdon Six Express will not run today, Jan 15 and Thursday, Jan 16 due to snowmaking on Upper Chute and Great Bear. The Snowdon Triple will run in its place. If you are in the area, be sure to watch or take part in the Michelob ULTRA Ski Bum Race Series taking place on Highline today.
We now have 4 terrain parks open: Lil’ Stash, Easy Street, Vale Yard, and Mouse Run. Conditions are perfect for takeoffs and landings, and the new snow has been groomed, making for prime park laps. Weather:
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with scattered snow showers and temps in the low teens. Winds will be moderate blowing 15-35 mph northwest.
Snowmaking:
Our snowmaking team has the guns running on Lower Timberline, Header, Lower Double Dipper, Great Bear and Upper Chute.
Grooming:
Groomers smoothed out over 50 of your favorite trails last night leaving behind nothing but pristine corduroy for your morning turns. Click here for a detailed list of groomed trails.
Operations Update:
Lifts will operate seven days a week. Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, plus Monday, January 20th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Bear Mountain Quad will start opening at 7:30 a.m. starting this Saturday, the 18th, and repeating every week till the last Saturday in March.
The Sunrise Village Triple is scheduled to open today from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Ski-back trails including Bear Cub and Sun Dog have snowmaking on them.
Uphill Travel: Open 24/7 on routes including Ramshead Base to the top of Ramshead Quad, Top of Ramshead Quad to the top of Snowdon, Base of Sunrise to Bear Mountain, Killington/Pico Interconnect, Pico Base to Pico Summit, and Summit Glade Route. Along with the National Ski Areas Association, Killington/Pico educates skiers and riders about slope safety awareness throughout the month of January by promoting safe skiing and riding. As part of National Safety Month at Killington, Ski Patrol and our Mountain Safety Team will be hosting #rideanotherday on-hill activities including Burrito giveaways (while supplies last) every Saturday in January at the top of the Snowdon Six starting at 11:00 a.m.
Mountain Services: (subject to change)
K-1 Lodge – Open daily 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 a.m. on Sat. & Sun. and at 8:30 Mon. - Fri. Lunch served 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 7 days a week. The Brew Bar will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fri. - Sun.
Rentals and K-1 Retail will be open 30 minutes before and after lifts.
Guest Services will be open 7 days a week.
Peak Lodge – Open: Daily from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Grill opens starting at 10:30 a.m. 7 days a week.
Snowshed – Open: Tickets, Rentals (Youth + Adult), Potter Brothers, Food court, and Retail open daily. Adult Lessons will meet at the base of the carpet lift, Private Lessons will meet in front of the Beast Coaster. Meet the Mountain Tours at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. daily (weather permitting).
Ramshead Lodge – Open: Rentals, Tickets, Restrooms, and Food Service. The Child Care Center is also open seven days a week. Mini Stars meet on the second floor, in the Mini Star Room, adjacent to the Rental Shop. Youth Lessons will be held by the Yurt.
Skyeship Lodge – Open: Tickets, Bar, and Rollin' Rooster are open. Winter camping is available at the Skyeship lot on Route 4.
Bear Mountain – Open: Tickets open Fri. – Sun. The Food court is open daily (grill open Fri – Sun + holiday), Bear Bar and Rollin’ Rooster are open daily
Killington Sports on Rt. 4 is open 7 days a week. Sun -Thurs 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Fri-Sat 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and holidays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Tubing Park will be open from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Fri. - Sun. Find tickets here.
Ticket Window Hours:
Ticket windows and kiosks will open 30 minutes before lifts open 7 days a week. The Snowshed Ticket window is open daily till 4:30. K-1 Ticket counter will close at 1:00 pm Monday-Thursday, K-1 Guest Services, on the second floor, will be open till 4:30 for guest assistance.
Lift tickets and rentals must be purchased online at, killington.com/tickets and lift tickets can be retrieved from a ticket kiosk. Season Passes can also be picked up from any kiosk with the barcode you received.
